1. Finally I got something concrete that says: "my books are really getting published!" I haven't gotten covers designed yet, so right now I'm visualizing bar codes for Star City - sounds corny, but it's a lot better than not having anything at all.
2. ISBNs are surprisingly important for the modern author. It's one of those behind-the-scenes things about publishing that you don't really consider until you're actually trying to publish a book. ISBNs are the ultimate sign that your novel is now an actual product. For instance, to list your book on Goodreads or Amazon you need its ISBN.
