First Professional Editing - Star City Progress Report

First Professional Editing - Star City Progress Report

It's been several months since I'd posted anything about Star City, so I'm sharing some recent developments.

My querying of literary agents hasn't been successful yet. Also, after learning a lot at the 2016 Chicago Writers Conference, I felt it's time to get a freelance editor to work on my manuscript.

I did take some time to consider this decision. After all, it's asking a lot for an author who haven't made a penny yet from his writing to spend four figures improving a novel that, once again, is not guaranteed to earn any money.

But, in the end I felt a professional edit is a good investment. I really want to see how my writing (and my sister's editing) really stack up. Of course, an improved manuscript will help with my querying. Therefore, I submitted Star City for editing tonight.

I'm really looking forward to see the results from my editor. In the meantime, I can take a break from Star City. I plan to spend this "free time" to concentrate on my day job and start writing my second YA novel.
